The Information Network Security Administration (INSA) has officially launched the 4th Round of its Cyber Talent Summer Camp Program; a flagship initiative aimed at nurturing Ethiopia’s next generation of cybersecurity experts. More than 8,000 nominees applied to join the program, with 700 of the most talented individuals successfully admitted following a rigorous selection process. The program, which aligns with Ethiopia’s Digital Ethiopia vision, seeks to equip participants with advanced skills to safeguard the nation’s digital infrastructure and accelerate the growth of the technology sector.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, INSA Director General Tigist Hamid delivered an inspiring message to the trainees, describing them as “the future custodians of Ethiopia’s digital sovereignty.” She encouraged participants to embrace the challenge with dedication and discipline, noting that their role is critical in building a secure and resilient cyber environment for the nation. Tigist also expressed her appreciation to the families of the trainees for their support, and called upon other national institutions to emulate such programs in fostering talent for Ethiopia’s digital transformation.

The Vice Academic President of Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, Dr. Kedir Ibrahim, also addressed the gathering, praising INSA’s commitment to cultivating the nation’s cyber capacity. He emphasized that the collaboration between academia and government institutions is vital to advancing Ethiopia’s position in the global technology landscape.
