The INSA Director General Extended Easter Greetings on the Occasion of the 2018 Ethiopian Calendar Easter Holiday

Director General of the Information Network Security Administration (INSA), Ms. Tigist Hamid, has extended Easter greetings to all Ethiopian Christian faithful and to members of the institution on the occasion of the 2018 Ethiopian Calendar Easter (Tinsae) holiday.

In her message, the Director General wished that the holiday be a time of peace, love, and happiness. She noted that Easter is a major religious celebration symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and the victory of life over death.

She emphasized that the holiday should be celebrated through forgiveness, sharing meals with the hungry, and helping those in need, as it is a time of deep love, reconciliation, and peace. She also called on Christians to strengthen the values of unity and mutual support in society and to celebrate the holiday in joy, love, and peace.

Ms. Tigist further urged the public to exercise heightened caution in their digital interactions during festive periods, noting that cyber threats often increase when people are in a celebratory mood.

She warned against phishing attempts such as fake messages like “You have received an Easter gift”, advising individuals not to share personal information through suspicious links. She also cautioned against fraudulent phone calls claiming “your bank account has been blocked” and requesting PIN numbers, and urged the public to verify the authenticity of any information before sharing it on social media.

She called on every citizen to act as their own cybersecurity guardian and protect themselves and their country from cyber threats. Finally, she advised the public to avoid opening suspicious links and never to disclose financial secrets to third parties, while once again wishing everyone a peaceful, joyful, and loving holiday season.
