The Director General of Information Network Security Administration (INSA), Ms. Tigist Hamid, along with Deputy Director Generals, held discussions with a senior South African technology delegation led by Dr. Jabu Mtsweni from the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). The two sides discussed potential areas of collaboration in cybersecurity and technology development.
During the meeting, Ms. Tigist Hamid stated that since CSIR operates under the Government of South Africa and is active in a sector led by the country’s security agency, strategic cooperation with INSA would play a significant role in advancing regional cybersecurity and technological development.
The Director General further noted that this partnership would elevate the capacity of both countries to safeguard digital sovereignty to a new level.
Beyond the discussion session, the delegation also observed locally developed technological products and services built by INSA. In addition, they visited the Ethio Cyber Talent Development Center, which plays a crucial role in producing skilled cybersecurity professionals in the country.
