Information Network Security Administration (INSA), in collaboration with the Gambella Regional State Innovation and Technology Commission, has delivered an awareness training for regional leaders and professionals on cybersecurity awareness and critical cybersecurity standards.
At the opening of the program, the Deputy Commissioner of the Regional Innovation and Technology Commission, Mr. Desalegn Biru, stated that as digital services continue to expand, cyber threat risks are also increasing accordingly.
He emphasized that leaders and professionals should give special attention to the issue and take necessary measures to protect themselves and their institutions. He also noted that similar trainings will continue to be provided more broadly to ensure a secure digital environment in the region.
On his part, INSA’s Director of Cybersecurity Leadership and Administration, Mr. Tadesse Mako, highlighted that ensuring cybersecurity should not be regarded as the sole responsibility of IT professionals.
He further stressed the importance of protecting technological infrastructures from attacks in order to maintain the reliability and trustworthiness of institutions.
This awareness platform was designed to enhance the understanding of cybersecurity among leaders and professionals at all levels and to enable government institutions to better protect their information and technological infrastructures from cyber threats.
