Google Releases Critical Security Update for Chrome Browser

Google has issued urgent security updates to fix a critical zero-day vulnerability (CVE-2025-6554) in its Chrome browser. If exploited, this flaw could allow attackers to take complete control of a user’s computer, smartphone, or other devices.

To protect against this threat, users are highly encouraged to update their Chrome browser to the latest version:

  • Windows: 138.0.7204.96/.97
  • macOS: 138.0.7204.92/.93
  • Linux: 138.0.7204.96
  • Google also recommends users of other Chromium-based browsers—such as Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi—to apply patches as soon as they become available.
